Oh, Jesus

A Canadian couple living in Kitale were badly beaten and robbed on Thrusday. They've been in Kenya for about 4 months working with orphans and widows. I haven't met the couple but have ties with much of their team living in Kitale. I've felt very safe here so far but when something like this happens it really makes me wonder how safe I really am. Although I'm broken hearted ove the matter I won't let this discourage me because MY GOD IS BIGGER! Please keep the John and Eloise Bergen in your prayes.

Here's a link to one of the more complete articles I found.

Just wanted you to know that we pray for you all the time. We will pray for other missionaries as well. God has you in his hand and will bless you. You are never alone. You are truly living by faith, which we should all be doing- but often fail at. So, God is using you as an inspiration. Cool! Uncle D. and I are taking Jane To Stanford again tomorrow to see what else we can learn. She continues to improve anyway- with God's help! Love, Auntie Joanne

Oh, Jesus is right. That is all I could say. I know it is not safe there but we got pretty comfortable I think. Reality check. Very unnerving. I am beginning to ASK God how to pray and what to pray for you. He knows and can show me. Just like you told me to ask God what you needed for your birthday/first trip to Africa and He faithfully told me everything. Ask and you shall receive. We forget to just ask! That taught me so much about the Lord and how I just need to ask of Him. Thank you. I love you, Mom
